Munching on a Leaf – Free Caterpillar Coloring Page
Crunch, crunch, crunch! A happy little caterpillar has found the perfect breakfast and is enjoying every bite. This free caterpillar coloring page shows a cheerful insect munching on a leaf while resting on an even bigger one, which makes it a sweet addition to your bug coloring pages for kids.
The caterpillar sits on the page in a curved S shape. The back half of its body lies flat along a large leaf, while the front half rises up tall, as if it were sitting up to eat. Its body is made of about nine round, puffy segments, like a row of stacked pillows or beads on a string, and they get a little smaller toward the tail. Along the bottom of its body, pairs of short, pointed little legs grip the leaf. Its head is big and round, with a small bump on top. From it, two thin antennae curve upward, each ending in a round knob sprinkled with tiny dots. It has two large, shiny eyes with bright highlights, small raised eyebrows, and a wide, satisfied smile. Held in its mouth is a small leaf with jagged edges and fine veins. The caterpillar is nibbling on it, and the leaf sticks out to the left of its face.

Beneath the caterpillar lies a large leaf that stretches across the lower part of the page, pointing to the left. Its edges are jagged like the teeth of a saw, and thin veins branch out from a central line across its surface. On the right, the leaf’s long, thin stem rises upward in a gentle curve.
