Christmas Complete the Picture – Present Symmetry Drawing
Only half of this holiday gift has been wrapped, and it’s up to a young artist to finish the job. This Christmas complete the picture activity asks children to draw the missing half of a festive present, which makes it a fun and seasonal symmetry drawing worksheet for the classroom or home.
On the left half sits one side of a tall, narrow gift box. At its top is a wide lid that sticks out past the edges of the box, with softly rounded corners. A ribbon runs straight down the front of the lid and the box, close to the center line. Above the lid rises one loop of a big bow, shaped like a rounded teardrop, with a smaller loop curled inside it. On the finished picture, it will become the left half of a perfectly balanced bow.

The box itself is decorated with four small five-pointed stars scattered down its side, each tilted at a slightly different angle, like confetti. To complete the picture, children copy each star into the matching square on the right side, so the same pattern appears on both halves of the present.
The bold lines and clear grid make it easy to count squares and place each line correctly. This turns a simple drawing activity into hands-on practice with symmetry, spatial thinking and fine motor control. Once the gift is complete, kids can color it in their favorite holiday colors.
